After much deliberation and careful thought, the Boston NOW Board has decided to dissolve the Boston Chapter of NOW. By doing so, we will pool our resources, talent, and time with Mass NOW, the state chapter, also located in Boston. While we believe that this is the best course of action to take to create a strong, unified, and well-resourced NOW chapter rooted in Boston, we welcome your feedback on this critical decision.

If you strongly believe that the Boston Chapter should not close, you have the right to seek election to assume leadership. If you intend to seek election to lead Boston NOW, please contact me by September 15, 2018. If no member steps forward to assume leadership, we will proceed with dissolution of the chapter.

The decision to dissolve the Boston Chapter was not easy for the Board to make. Boston NOW is proud of what it has accomplished with your support. 2017 was one of our strongest years, yet the challenges of running a fully volunteer-run organization are many. We recognize that one NOW Chapter located in Boston will be stronger and more effective than two separate chapters. As the Mass NOW chapter has jurisdiction over the entire state, including Boston, we believe it necessary for the city chapter to close.
